Engineered for the demanding environments of US ports, inland waterways, and industrial terminals.
The United States boasts one of the most sophisticated inland waterway systems in the world, with the Mississippi River Basin serving as the arterial backbone for bulk commodity transport. From the agricultural heartlands of the Midwest exporting millions of tons of grains to the Gulf Coast, to the industrial hubs along the Ohio and Illinois rivers importing cement, fertilizer, and coal, efficient barge unloading is critical to keeping the supply chain moving. Traditional grab buckets and pneumatic systems are increasingly falling short under modern economic and environmental pressures.
As US ports face unprecedented congestion and rising labor costs, terminal operators are shifting toward continuous barge unloaders (CBUs). Unlike cyclic grab cranes, a continuous screw ship unloader maintains a steady, high-capacity flow of material. This drastically reduces demurrage costs, minimizes energy consumption per ton, and significantly increases the annual throughput of the terminal. For operations handling abrasive or heavy materials like cement clinker, gypsum, and fertilizers, the mechanical reliability of a continuous screw system is unmatched.
Our systems combine state-of-the-art Chinese engineering with components designed to meet strict US mechanical and electrical standards.
Fully enclosed conveying pathways eliminate dust emissions, ensuring your terminal easily complies with US EPA Clean Air regulations and OSHA workplace safety standards.
Continuous mechanical screw conveying consumes up to 30% less power per ton compared to pneumatic systems, dramatically lowering utility costs for US operators.
Engineered specifically to accommodate standard US barge sizes (such as Jumbo barges and standard coal/grain hoppers) ensuring complete clean-up of corners.
We specialize in providing overall solutions for bulk material transfer, storage, and transportation systems, as well as the R&D, design, manufacturing, and sales of high-end loading and unloading equipment for powdery and granular bulk materials.
Decarbonization, automation, and efficiency are driving the next generation of terminal upgrades across North America.
For decades, grab cranes were the standard for unloading bulk materials at US river terminals. However, they suffer from significant material spillage, erratic dust generation, and high operator fatigue. A continuous screw ship unloader solves these issues by drawing the material directly from the barge using a counter-rotating feeder head, conveying it vertically and horizontally through enclosed tubes. This continuous flow results in a much higher average unloading rate compared to the peak rate of a grab crane, which drops significantly during the cleanup phase at the bottom of the barge.
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and various state-level agencies (such as the California Air Resources Board - CARB) have continuously tightened regulations on particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) emissions. Terminals handling cement, fly ash, and chemical fertilizers are under strict mandates to eliminate fugitive dust. Our screw barge unloaders are designed with airtight seals and integrated dust collection systems at transfer points, ensuring a clean, dust-free operation that helps terminals secure operating permits in environmentally sensitive regions.
Labor shortages and safety concerns are prompting US terminal operators to invest in automated systems. Modern continuous barge unloaders can be equipped with PLC control systems, collision avoidance sensors, and remote monitoring capabilities. Operators can control the unloading process from a safe, air-conditioned cabin or even a remote control center, reducing the risk of accidents and optimizing unloading cycles through real-time data feedback.
The company's products and services have been exported to countries such as Australia, Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Russia, and are well-received by customers.
